I wouldn't do it, but if the efficiency and range were there I'd rather do that then install a 4BT. 100% HP at 1/2 RPM is hard to argue with. There is a guy on YouTube who put an electric motor in a 1939 Dodge pickup. He did a nice job, but there aren't any videos talking about how it works on the road so I don't know how practical it is. As for electrifying the world it seems like the right move to me as you can produce electricity anywhere once you have cheaper more efficient solar cells. I've already seen cars with solar cells in the roof. A car body made out of solar cells would be even better. If every surface of every structure absorbed the suns energy at even 30% efficiency we could get rid of a lot of power plants. At least we could if we could find a good way to store it for use during the night and cloudy days.
