In Los Angeles, what at first appears to be a robbery is occasionally an effort to get money that was owed by the victim.
I don't know anything about the Power Wagon in question. I hope the owner gets his truck back. Power Wagons sometimes get stolen, as Clueless knows. But, your average car thief is not stealing Power Wagons, even if he could drive one. I'd guess that a Power Wagon is more likely to be taken by a scrapper than your run-of-the-mill car thief.
