The WD-15 3/4 ton was also a D, but not a 1 ton. I'm not sure why it was done that way. Why was the WC 1/2 ton model carried over into the 1/2 ton 4wd and then continued to be used when the 3/4 tons were introduced?
Like I said about the X there is sometimes a lack of consistency in the 1939-47 model numbers. Either that or there is a method that I just don't understand fully.
