I am more inclined to the momentary push button or a toggle. The marine/lanyard switch is too modern looking for my truck. I can go to the cab and turn the ignition switch off, but have always thought it would be nice to be able to do the same thing closer to the winch. I can push the button down until the engine stops running then let go. I just have to be certain that the button is the type that cuts the flow of current when pushed.
As you said, complete waterproofing is the criteria.
