Yes, we are in the NW. Sandpoint, Idaho, on Lake Pend Oreille.
Unfortunately the engineer/architect on both projects was the owner himself. He is not licensed to practice commercially. The state of Idaho allows an owner to design his own home, even the structural engineering.
The architectural features of the house were done with a computer program, and, to me, lacking in many ways. The structural engineering was all out of his head, and quite worthy of it's task. They are both still there, after 10 years or so. :)
I can give you the name of a very good architect in the Anacortes/Bayview area. We have been friends since high school days, over 50 years.
