Theres no CDL required in Kansas to drive one. I think if you have Not For Hire on it anyone can drive it. You can also register them differently and this wont require a CDL either. SOme of my buds are buying Semi's to haul their race car trailers instead of eating up a 1 Ton Dually every few years pulling. By the time you pay 35 to 40 grand for a dually you could buy you a smaller "truck" to do the job better.

Also dont regular licenses go up to something like 25000 lbs. The 6x6 is only 2 1/2 tons?!?! Living in Kansas if I decided to help with harvest I could drive one of those old D500 Grain trucks with no CDL. If its a semi that says For Farm Use or Not For Hire I could drive it then also.

I guess I should get some camo's to wear if I ever buy one and drive across country. Then no cops will hassle me! They would think I was a General or something! ;)
