Chrysler-Nissan? Hmmm..I never knew Chrysler had a joint venture with Nissan...But anyhow those 6 cyl Nissan Diesel engines in the Scout IIs were good strong dependable engines. The Scout IIs came with a diesel Option from '76 to '80. A good lot of them were backed by a 727, but you can find them with Manual Trannies as well. The People who own Diesel Scout IIs just love them. The Nissan Diesel Used in the Scout IIs is a inline six cyl, and I cant remember for sure, but it is either a 196 CI or 198 CI...Seeing it has such small displacement, it may be a little too underpowerd for a Power Wagon or M-37 etc. Physically, It should fit a Power Wagon. If I were to put one in a Power Wagon, I would deffinatly go with a manual trans because the engine is so small CID wise that it would be a total Dog behind a automatic. If you want more info on these engines, I know quite a bit of IHC enthusiasts so Email me and I will refer you to them. Charlie what is your Imput on this?
