Wheel/tire combo for 1968 W-200

Looking for some info on suitable replacement for 16" split rims. Truck now has 7.50/16 tires...and they are shot.
Seems most shops won't touch split rims anymore...and I need to be able to service this thing without too much drama...so I have ruled out 17.5's.

Looking for SOLID info/experience with replacement on this vintage. Min and max ranges appreciated...suppliers, etc. welcomed.
