Yes. Bondo works well. Seal it before painting so it won't soak up the paint. After that I wrapped the wheel with bicycle handle bar tape. I used black but there are so many colors and types to choose from you can get real custom. You will need two rolls to do the job. Has been on there at least 15 years with no signs of wear...Jackson
