I'm going back for round 3 within a week or so. All the help so far is greatly appreciated, and reaffirms my take on the situation. I will admit I was thinking they may have eaten closer to $1,000 in real costs in the trade (but I am sometimes too sympathetic to used car dealers trying to get 300%-500% markup) I appreciate everyone sharing a bit of their knowledge/experience to help me out! The dealer did mention he had a pretty hefty cost to get it moving again just rebuilding the drive shafts ($1,500). I don't believe this one will make it into my portfolio of unwanted, neglected, and abused vehicles, but... Thanks Again (everyone)!
