Back in July/Aug '91 we took an 8-week trip to AK leaving Denver on Amtrak with only our backpacks. The only way I could get a leave-of-absence from my job was to say it was our honeymoon. Except that when we got back in September, we'd forgotten to get married! We took care of that small detail in Oct of that year and have talked about going back to AK for 10 good years now. I've still got one of those 1992 50-year commemorative Alaska Highway postage stamps with the Dodge making its way north hanging on my wall for motivation. Bruce Metzger Woodland Park, CO
