back in the 80's when I worked as a RV/Lt truck mechanic we saw lots of motor home chassis w/ bad differential bearings. One day somebody told me about a tour of an RV plant in the winter. Seems the chassis are stored outside, snow buries them,snow melt runs in thru the vent, sinks to bottom of diff, rusts the bottom half of all bearings. If you teardown diff, look for pits in low sides of all brg cups.
