Dean,

Believe me, I've got all the respect in the world for these rims. I also have seen and heard what they are capable of doing. We had a young man working at a truck tire shop in my home town who was decapitated by a ring that blew off upon inflation. On investigation where did they find the tire??? - leaning up against the outside of the cage! It's just that if they are handled in the proper manner, they can be safely mounted. I don't advocate a neophyte changing one by themselves, but I do think we should learn how to do it. For those who are intimidated by the rims, then by all means stay away from them. The cages were built for obvious reasons and should be utilized, but if unavailable there are other ways that they can be mounted safely. I do appreciate the remarks and concern about safety and that's really what it's all about! Thanks for the reply.
