It's especially difficult wet sanding out runs. Almost easier to sand & re-clear.
It can be done but it's difficult & you need to spend lots & lots of time. Almost need to tape up the surrounding areas & carefully sand with 320 & moving finer & finer until you're using a rubber pad with 1500 on it.
Keep in mind that any sanding scratches that are coarser than 1500 will never polish off.
It's really difficult but here's a truck I've used for years with good success....
Take a safety razor & wrap a piece of masking tape around one end...then the other end. So I realize this is difficult to visualize but you now have a safety razor where only the center section of the blade is uncovered....maybe a 1" section...you follow?
Then carefully scrape the run with the razor....like a mini planer...you understand?
