Here is what the reply was as to which carb is recommended for the 230 Flathead. Not too comprehensive, but we aren't talking about a real complicated application here.
"Use our carb we use for the in line 6 cylinder Jeeps. Will be better jetted for that engine. Part# 22680.200 $199.95 Avail on our websit." (link to website below)
Their 1 bbl to 2 bbl adapter won't work, but Vaughn posted a source for another one. I don't think it will be too hard to get a machine shop to make one out of aluminum for about the same price.
I think this is something I will do, down the road, maybe in the fall or winter.
