I admit I am taking a very aggressive approach to solving this. In the previous thread, you mentioned the pressure and flow test. I asked how you conduct the test, if you do it under cranking, or how?

The first signs of it were very indicative of vapor lock, and the fuel line was the most obvious issue being on the exhaust side. This needed to be changed regardless.

Next up was the pump. The trucks history was unknown to me, and for $60 to get the piece of mind that I had a new pump in it was worth the money and the time.

I firmly believe in fixing the obvious like the line, and pump of unknown origin. I checked for an issued with the in tank plumbing by putting the pickup in a jerry can.

I removed the glass bowl filter, and with fuel in it, I couldn't blow through it. When I removed the fuel line, there was quite a bit of pressure on filter/pump line.

I replaced the bowl filter with an inline unit, and I also put a 1/8" NPT Tee inline so tomorrow I can pick up a 1" diameter fuel pressure gauge to mount on there.

I just took the truck for a test drive of about 5 miles, and had no issues. My most recent test prior to this got me a few hundred yards till it acted up.

I'm going to do an extensive trip on the back roads after my yard work is done, my mountain bike is in the back for a ride home :-P
