That should cheer you up, anyone who is facing the discouragement of turning the ripe old age of 30. :)
I got mine today in the mail. It was shipped by rail from Los Angeles to Lombard Motors in Klamath Falls Oregon, in Oct. 1946. It seems to contradict the info on the home page about original colors. My truck is a 1946 and was painted Orange. I found orange among the 4 or 5 layers and thought it looked like the first color, but couldn't really be sure until now.
The accompanying literature explains that this is a "small, fast, powerful and rugged vehicle, capable of traveling equally as well on the road, or off the road." That being the case, why would anyone need to change the powertrain? :)
Of interest, also, was that it was equipped with a 7500 lb. capacity winch. I always thought the MU2 for the PWs was 10,000.
Anyway, it was pretty cool to read all about this thing.
I guess I chose the right color for painting.
