Well no burned valve and I did have a few a touch too tight. Ended up being spark plugs. .. apparently they are a touch long for these heads and the pistons "regapped" a few for me bur not all the way closed which accounted for the pop and sounding like cross fire. Checked comp on all cylinders and they were all within a couple pounds of 170 once I loosened the lash up a fuzz. Purrs like an angry kitten now. Thanks for all of the suggestions and help.
