I've seen a couple in tire shops. They cut nearer the tread, taking off the whole sidewall.
The shop I took my last 9.00s to had a dumpster full. But I thought it was just a better way to transport to the furnace.
But I think I'll check w/ my BIL, he works for the city. Around here, we sort our trash into three bins- blue for recyclables, greens for composting, and black for trash. I guess tires would go into the black bins? ;)
