Since the day I bought my '50, the fuel gauge has never worked. To make a long story bearable, I dropped both tanks (yep, dual tanks), cleaned, painted, and now have them sitting on the floor. The truck was converted to 12V negative ground before I got it, so I don't know if it has EVER worked with 12V. I'm doing a gauge swap anyway (long story) to a factory 12V Dodge fuel gauge from another truck. Does anyone know how I need to wire from the gauge to the sending units, do I need to change sending units, or will it work as-is? I can handle the wiring from the tank-switching no problem.... it's just whether or not I can just wire them up and they'll work or not. Will in Illinois has changed gauges to aftermarket, but I don't recall if he ever switched tanks or sending units. What do you think?
