probably more get finsished than many other vehicles people attempt to restore/refurbish. For many there are 2 purposes to fixing one up. first is so it can be sued to work and second is to go to shows nad ham it up. restoring cars on the other hand is usually only for showing and value purposes. Lots of guys on this forum have finished it seems but you will still have to maintain it when done. Just like any other vehicle.
