check references. unless you are transporting a clunker that won't break the bank or your heart if you lose it. going with the guy that does it as a hobby or is a "semi pro" is good until there is an issue. then you are SOL and you will find that a cheap price yields a cheap result. a dot carrier posts a bond that is attachable if there is a claim. skip brokers. if you are getting a too good price, you are risking getting screwed.
