I think, actually, the superior dependability of the Japanese products drove Dodge out. The quality of 60's and 70's Dodge trucks was pretty poor and Dodge didn't have the small truck much of the world wanted.

The worst vehicle I ever bought (which I still have) was a 71 Dodge pickup.
