I wonder what those circuit boards have on them and whether it's anything that really needs to be there or does any good in terms of charging the battery. I have my doubts. I suspect the marketeers just wanted to be able to put some LEDs on the front panel or say "computerized" or something. Even my cheap battery chargers are just a transformer, rectifier, and meter. I would not want one with any fancy electronics in it.
