You can get out of print maps for free online. Hopefully the below link works. keep zooming in then drop markers on the maps you want. Click on the markers and you get the whole map history for that point. You can then download the old up to the new as pdf. I prefer paper, but it's hard to store, more expensive than it was, and they are discontinuing paper maps.

I'm glad they are still offering the old maps because the new ones are too messy. They really got it right with the old ones where you get a lot of information in a tidy easy to read package. You can glance at an old map and almost instantly get the lay of the land. With the new ones I have to search to see if that line is a road, boundary, stream or contour line. They all look too similar. The new maps still suffer from gee whiz. Folks think that with GIS if you add and then turn on every possible layer you get a better map. New techie map makers can learn a lot from graphic design, communication and art majors. Simple, with only just enough information.
