In California, it's all about looks. Otherwise, how could you explain all the four wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles in L.A.? California is the home of the Toyota pickup Prerunner which is a 2 wheel drive truck that looks like a 4X4.
Now, the $200,000 Porsche Turbo 4, that's a four wheel drive that makes sense here. Wish I could afford one. 0-60 in about 3 seconds.
