I think it will hold up fine. Some of the Ford Explorers about 15 or 20 years ago had to be entirely repainted at Ford's expense. And, here in the desert, you often see old cars, with deteriorated clear coat. But, I think all those problems have been pretty much solved.
It also depends on the color. Dark colors will have more problems.
