They, whoever "they" are, go back and forth. I think the tendency is to make the house too air tight. For a while there we had to caulk between the sill plates! How dumb is that? There are so many contaminants in carpet, underlayment, plywood, paint, laminate counter tops, vinyl windows, etc., that you need to allow for a little fresh air, even in the winter when people don't open windows as much. We open the windows in the bedroom every night of the year. Seems like you sleep better with a little fresh air.
