So, I am at a deciding point on my Carryall. All of my suspension brackets, motor mounts, cross members that aren't original... bolt to my stock frame. There are a few locations on my frame where I will need to weld an interior bracket to the frame for my suspension links (4 link front) just to get the bolts in double shear and to support the interior frame bracket.

Those of you with either V8s, or Cummins swaps... do you experience any chassis twist, creaking, popping, flexing with the newer bigger power plants installed?

I really don't want to box the frame on this truck... for many reasons... However... if the Chassis gives you some twists and creaks then I'd really like to know. PLEASE be honest on this.

My engine is going to be making 420 ft/lbs peak with an Allison 1000, 38" Michelins and 4.56 gears... I don't want every body panel on the truck to creak, pop and shift.

The previous owner said that when he had the Cummins in it, the rear of the body would twist so bad crossing ditches that the gates would pop open...

Thoughts guys?

Picture shows my link bracket type setup for those that haven't seen it and am wondering what in the world I am talking about.
