im going to try to paint,my m37

my question is how would i remove the rustolium paint on the doors. im only going to scuff -prime and pain the whole t. there is no dents or rust. i cant afford to have it painted and want to enjoy it this summer. all the other paint is normal to sand but the old owner painted over fire department lettering. how would you do the rustoileum just keep sanding it till its gone.
