The original rubber mats are available for the early trucks. Roberts used to sell the rubber by the yard & you cut it yourself. The later 1 piece mats...nobody makes them & somebody should. The norm is to just cut mats & do the floors like the early trucks.
Making one quiet? Tons of ways but none that won't render your truck worth zilch.
These trucks are cool old work trucks. They command big bucks now when faithfully restored or tastefully modified but carpet, bed liner, sound deadened, modern seats, steering column, dash/guages or wiring & if I'm the prospective buyer, you have a truck worth whatever that crap costs to remove & restore.
Just like restoring an old home, there's tasteful modifications that can be made but unfortunately for every one properly restored or renovated like Michael Verst's truck, there's 100 done that just shouldn't be.
Stick with something that looks exactly like what could have been available the year your truck was built & you won't go too far wrong.
Also, try not to watch any "Grease Monkey Garage" & you'll be better for it unless you just want to watch a couple of clowns.
:)
