Reading this long list of comments, I am struck by the heartfelt understanding from the collection of very different men on this forum--mechanics, firemen,woodsmen, retirees-- all of whom seem to know mortality and loss, and are able to convey with just a few words their deep understanding of it.
For me, I would just say this: I saw your Grandpa's photo, and I thought:'He is good people'. The best of people.' Probably the finest thing in his life was seeing you grow up the same. He must have thought the world of you.
