Her adrenals had shut down last fall. I've been giving her one pill/day since, to goof effect. I knew what a 'crisis' was, but didn't think it could happen while on the medication. So yesterday when she was off her feed, it was far from my mind- I figured it was something she ate. Today she was pretty comatose. Got her in to the vet's at 11:00, but she passed before they could even start an IV.
My ignorance. But at least I was spared making that big decision.
Now she is in the shade of my Loquat trees. Will bring a different meaning to "Barley Wine".
