Steve is right on with speed. I can run any legal road speed with any of my old Cummins/ Iron. But here is the kicker. In 'my opinion' its simply not safe with the old suspension, steering design and high center of gravity. I normally only run 55 and once in a while push them to 60 on the Interstate.
I truly believe if you want speed, then drop whatever body on a modern chassis (gas or diesel). Then you have the looks and a chassis designed for interstate speeds with safety.
As mentioned, just my opinion. Others will vary
