On mine I wanted upgraded axles, power steering, power brakes and such. For me anyway, to get all of it to work together was more than I wanted to tackle. My thinking with going with a more recent frame I'd have more aftermarket options to choose from.

I wanted all Dodge on my truck and mapped out over 15 different frames taking measurements and such. None of the Dodge frames would look right without a LOT of mods as others have eluded to. The Late 70's Chevy 1 ton frame I used fits better than the original.

Don't get me wrong, it's still loads of work to get everything aligned with making all the brackets and such but that is easier than dealing with drivetrain and such alignments.

Anything can be done, it just depends on how much you want and what you are more comfortable trying to work out. There's always a WHOLE lot of stuff you don't think about when doing ANY change. Kind of a snowball effect if you will.
