No kidding! My dad lived there, I'm guessing in the '30s, because I was born in '42, and that was in Calif. He never went back after the trip we made.
He said he worked in a steel mill.
When we were there he showed me a road that was paved with blocks of hardwood.
Other than that, the main thing I remember was it was HOT and HUMID. We were there in August, I think.
