correct the WW2 rigs had a grounding plate botled to the hood there and then a piece of braided ground strap riveted to the piece on the fender that it rubbed against. the WW2 rigs are the most grounded vehicles ever I think. pages of ground strap drawings in the manual. every washer was an internal/external toothed type on anything body related
