The earliest I can find undercoating offered as an option is in a January 1, 1951 price book for $5.00 retail. The odd thing is, the only place it shows up in is for the Route Vans. Its not listed for the PW or the other trucks.

Undercoating first appears as an option on the 8/51 version of the build cards. I do have a Power Wagon build card with the undercoating option punched. The truck still has the factory undercoating on it today.
