Nick;
You need a Power Wagon Shop Manual written by Dodge.....no aftermarket manuals. In the rear of the Dodge Shop Manual, you will find a section called Torque Reference. It lists all the torques of important fasteners in your PW.

I seriously believe in safety in any area that can kill you or others. That said,
by torquing the tie rod fasteners to almost 3 times the Dodge Listed Torque Value, its possible and probable that you YIELDED the fasteners rendering them UNSAFE. Only destructive lab testing can verify if they are yielded, you can not see it with your eyes. A yielded fastener can break without notice.

This is why I always use new fasteners in critical areas, as you dont know the past tightening history.

Your Boss, a Fleet Mechanic may be totally right on 100 foot pounds for large fleet type trucks. PW's are not large fleet type trucks.

My own opinion, I would junk the tie rod ends as they control the steering and your life, and others on the road.

Paul
