Still have to have tread!! How would you go up a steep dune? Here is my old CJ2A that I pulled Dune Buggies out of Cherry Creek with. Note the narrow tires. It worked somehow. I had a 74 CJ-5 with a 304 V8 with Desert Dogs and that was a lot of fun on the CA dunes. Hey Steve aren't you the one with the brother you are trying to convert to PWs from Jeep? No sympathy here... I am an old Jeep guy. I did go Power Wagon though. Jeeps are just right for the real narrow trails in CO. My PWTW is just huge, but I can sleep and party in it.
