How can a piece of wood be "made" anywhere? And how can the Boy Scouts of all people rationalize buying pinewood derby kits from China? I can understand maybe getting the plastic wheels from China, but the wood? Come on. In fact. I thought it was almost gospel that pinewood derby cars must be whittled from a block of white pine from North Idaho. I'm sure one tree per year could provide all the "pine wood" they need.
