possible bad distributor - worn bushings. i chased the problem for a long time. changed manifold flapper, insulated fuel line, changed plugs, wires etc. dist was set properly, but worn bushings caused bad timing at speed and caused hot engine conditions. john bizal rebuilt my entire dist assembly and truck runs perfectly. do not underestimate timing as a cause of many problems.
