Well, after purchasing over $100 worth of tools/pullers trying unsuccessfully to remove the front inner axle seal from my 55 FFPW, I finally took the advice of a few from here and made my own.

$5 later I had this, 5/8 threaded rod, (3) 5/8 fender washers, (3) 5/8 nuts. I used two washers as the "pullers" and ground flats off them creating two sides. Took just enough off the washers so they would fit on an angle through the seal. Once through, the other nut forces them to "stand up" which makes them sit against the back of the seal. I cut a hole in a 2 x 4 for the threaded rod and backed it up with a washer and nut. Tightened it up until 2x4 rested against the axle housing, kept tightening until the seal popped out. Worked like a champ. That sucker was in tight! Of course, the bushing just fell out. We'll see how the other side goes next week. Now I get to take all the tools back for a refund. :)

The top pic shows the whole thing including the seal just after I pulled it. The bottom shows it all mounted up.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get the bushing out of the spindle?

Thanks for the advice guys,
Clark
