Speaking of vibrating tubes, I had a'51 Ford woody around 1962. The radio never worked until I made a trip in Baja from San Felipe to Puertecitos, a 52 mile drive that took 4 hours. I guess the bouncing and banging over the bumps and holes jarred the tubes back in place because the radio suddenly started to blast out Mexican music. It worked from then on.
