It looks like excerpts from movies to me. They're probably real ships in real seas, but how often would there be a camera in the right place with such a good view of it? The shot of the wave coming down the hallway inside the ship has to have been staged because what sailor would just happen to be standing there making a video of his hallway when a wave comes crashing down it?
