never trie dthat but have had the lines leak and they leak real good! I think quite a bit gets in there. spin on might not work as a by pass filter. it is designed for higher pressure and the bypass might not have enough PSI to get through the media. there are ways to convert to a full flow system. I deally both would be best. the bypass removes more acid and super fine particles than a full flow does. the Dodge Truck 361-4 and 413-4 ran a dual system like that.
