I hate electrical problems. I will admit I have sold vehicles that I loved, due to electrical problems.
My son has been trying to help me, since I am not presently able, but he lives 40 miles from me. My son who lives closest, by his own admission, dislikes working on cars, and is also in Calif. for a couple of weeks.
Before I resort to calling in my mechanic, at $65 per hour, I want to ask for some suggestions, please.
My '68 W300 with the snow plow (318), has no power anywhere, lights, heater, ignition, even the plow motor, although the two batteries are in new condition. He replaced the starter relay for me. This didn't help. He also cleaned the battery cables pos. and grounds.
It seems from the wiring diagram that power goes from the battery to the starter relay, then to the starter itself. Power also travels from the relay to the amp gauge and to the ignition switch. Next idea I have is to replace the switch.
I don't see any indications of a fusible link on the wiring diagram.
Any other suggestions?
