I have had a couple sets of origionals rechromed the made in USA was very easy to read. I would allow the light could make a differance but if they were rechromed any imperfections would show up under the finish. as the chrome is very thin Like paint your chrome job is only as good as the material that is under it and some thing like that tends to show up.
