I have a lot of experience with many types and brands. My best advice is to fit your needs.
I have had a MileMarker Hydraulic 10500lb for near 20 years and love it!!!!! (unstopable)
The only issue i had with it was a bad pump, once i replaced that no issues. Works very much like a pto in that you can use it continually with very large loads and not worry.
I have used Warn, MileMarker (electric), Ramsey, and Champion.
My conclusion, You can't go wrong with Warn or Ramsey.
The MileMarker electric worked great as well, in fact i will likely buy another.
I had mixed results with the Champion, my first one worked great, the second had issues.
If you want to move stuff all day Go Hydraulic.
If you want a recovery winch for your light jeep then I would go electric with synthetic.
That said have my MileMarker Hydraulic on my jeep right now.... been there for 13 years now. works great for me.
