There are some definite differences in the '68 and '69 cabs and frame not the least of which is the dash and wiring. If yours is a stick it has the juice clutch and the '69 is first year of the manual linkage. Your frame will have a cross member with bell housing mounts which the '69's and newer do not. All of this can be overcome but want to give you a heads up. I hope the link to the original sweptline site shows up and if it does it should answer a lot of questions you may have. Plus it should have links to a couple other sites.

I swapped cabs on mine for the same reason. Mine is a '67 and I used a '68 cab which is nearly identical with only a couple of minor differences. As mentioned it would be smart to visit with the people that make the decisions on the title and VIN business. I did and they said I would be issued a # by the state which I really did not want since this rig was bought new by Dad. They even knew the correct rivets it should have which really surprised me. In the end I was not issued a new # and that was by a real chance of fate.

I had been in prior to get a boat trailer taken care of and and while they mostly were pleasant enough I did not like their reaction when I started to get our of my rig because my back was hurting. So several weeks later when I take the PW in I have a bit of an attitude thinking about the last trip there. I hand the paperwork out the window to the guy without looking at him. About 15 seconds later I hear "hey, I know you." I turn and look and it was a county deputy (former, it turned out) I had known in my former life as a professional Firefighter across the river in east PDX. He was always a real nice guy and knew me well enough to know I was not trying to pull some shenanigans. I didn't say anything but first thing he noticed was standard (incorrect) rivets in the door tag to which he says you know they don't like that. I told him what I had done and that I would never sell it but if I did or had to I would sure let them know what had been done. He checked the frame #'s and all the paperwork and let it slide. I was happy but really would have only meant another tag on the door frame.
